“Gain insight, make changes, increase success, improve confidence”
Hello, My name is Paul Wagner, MS. LPC (He/Him/His), I’m an outpatient therapist with ElevateMind. My primary focus is working with adults and children who struggle with managing ADHD and poor executive functioning skills; however, I have extensive experiences supporting individuals dealing with mood issues, anxiety, and life stressors. Through in depth training I’ve adopted a Cognitive- Behavioral approach, and work to integrate this into treatment techniques that are most effective for the individual. My hope is to bring my 9 years of experience in the mental health field into the therapeutic relationship to work collaboratively to make a better life.
As an individual with ADHD, I know firsthand what struggles can be created by this neurodivergence. ADHD creates shame, disconnect from others, poor performance in school, work, or home, as well as doubt in their abilities to be successful. I want to challenge this notion and support my clients so they can feel pride in themselves, connect with those they care about, and both generate and maintain a feeling of success in their lives. Personally, I feel therapy is a tool for creating insight and positive, intentional change. My goal is to meet the needs to my clients to make life better. Common issues that clients struggle with are: Procrastination, poor time management, impulsivity, emotional dysregulation, motivation, disorganization, relationship stress, difficulties maintaining responsibilities at work or school, poor sleep/ diet/ exercise routines, difficulties with follow through, and the feeling that you are capable of more. If you struggle with these areas then I may be able to help. I have worked with adults, teens, children, couples, and families to improve their awareness of what ADHD is, recognizing how it is impacting them and others around them, and developing plans and interventions to improve their ability to turn their intentions into actions. I take a mindful and affirming approach to those who have cultural and diversity factors in their life. I believe that for effective treatment to occur, one must feel safe and accepted in their space. Therefore, I work to create a strong therapeutic alliance by developing trust and promoting both insight and acceptance for oneself.
